Dr G.K. Chaukiyal held various top management positions in Airports Authority Of India before joining as Head of Academics at RGNAU in July 2019 since inception of the first programme. He headed various divisions in AAI like Airport operations, Engineering, Airport Planning, RCS-UDAN, Project Monitoring etc. He has supervised the operations of around 130 airports in India as Member(Operations) in AAI. He is a guest faculty with Indian Aviation Academy also. Dr Chaukiyal is a post graduate in Civil Engineering and M.Tech in Management & Systems from IIT Delhi. He completed his Ph.D. in aviation from SPA New Delhi in 2020.
He was involved in almost 60 airport projects in various capacities in India and Bhutan. As airport director Patna he and his fire & rescue team saved 8 passengers during Alliance Air CD 7412 air crash in July 2000.
Apart from various aviation conferences in India and abroad Dr Chaukiyal has also participated in 3 Doordarshan talk shows as aviation expert, including during live telecast of inauguration of Pakyong airport, Sikkim by honorable Prime minister of India. He is also involved in various consultancy assignments in India and abroad as aviation expert..
